AnthemAVM Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I see that Flex your Power is an option in 2.7.3. I live in an area that has it, how does it work?
Michel Kohanim Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Hi AnthemAVM, All you have to do is to: 1. Enable it in the Configuration tab under Electricity. 60 second polling interval should suffice 2. Just like any other event, in your programs, you can check the status of Flex Your Power (enabled = CA needs you to cut back) and based on its status turn on/off your devices/scenes With kind regards, Michel I see that Flex your Power is an option in 2.7.3. TJF1960 Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 All you have to do is to: 1. Enable it in the Configuration tab under Electricity. 60 second polling interval should suffice I just installed 2.7.3 last night, and for the life of me cannot find the Enable Electricity box, or anything with the word Electricity in the Configuration tab screen. I have 2 tabs in the config window, 1 is System and the other is Climate. To the right, at the bottom of the window has "Electricity Pricing (Base/Current): $0.00 / $0.00" (which is on every window not just the config tab). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tim
MikeB Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Is there an Electricity option on your ISY's HTML page? If so, in the Admin Console, the ELECTRICITY tab should be a sub-tab within the CONFIGURATION tab. If you're not seeing it, please close your browser windows and clear your Java cache; http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... Java_Cache If you still don't see it, from the Admin Console click HELP, then ABOUT and tell me what it says (it should list the Electricity Module).
TJF1960 Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I cleared my Java catche. The Electricity Module is not listed in the ISY html page or "About" in the program gui. Is that option a pay for option, or is it included in 2.7.3? If it is a pay for option which add on module is it? The Brultech Electricity Module or the Open Auto Demand/Response Module? I guess I misunderstood from the first post. It sounded like this option was included in the new update but now it sounds like it may be a pay for option. Thanks, Tim
Michel Kohanim Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Hello Tim, Apologies. Open Auto DR as well as Flex Your Power and Electricity tab are free. There seems to have been a bug in 2.7.3 which is fixed in 2.7.4. With kind regards, Michel I cleared my Java catche. TJF1960 Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Hello Tim,Apologies. Open Auto DR as well as Flex Your Power and Electricity tab are free. There seems to have been a bug in 2.7.3 which is fixed in 2.7.4. With kind regards, Michel I installed 2.7.4, cleared the Java cache and still do not have the Electricity Tab in Config., System and Climate are the only two tabs. "About" shows 2.7.4 and Weather Info. There is not an Electricity option on the ISY's HTML page either. What can I try next? Thanks, Tim
Michel Kohanim Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Hello Tim, This is indeed quite odd since I just tested this with a completely blank unit and it works fine. If you have a remote access URL, would you be kind enough to send it to us (support@universal-devices.com) along with your credentials (please reset to admin/admin). With kind regards, Michel Hello Tim,Apologies. Open Auto DR as well as Flex Your Power and Electricity tab are free. There seems to have been a bug in 2.7.3 which is fixed in 2.7.4. I do have the Brultech module so I have an electricity tab, but nothing for Open Auto DR or Flex Your Power. When I check for available modules, I see the Open Auto DR module listed as available for $49. I didn't try to purchase it since I don't think I can do anything with it. From what I can tell it only works with certain rate schedules and mine isn't one of them.
Michel Kohanim Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Hi Bob, Yes, indeed we found the bug: it was adding the module if and only if you didn't have any other modules installed. This is already fixed and shall be included in 2.7.5. Apologies for the inconvenience, With kind regards, Michel
chuckl Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Hi, I can't figure out how to use the Flex Your Power Feature. I enabled it via the Configuration > Electricity > Main > Flex Alert Settings. In Program Details, now I see for Add To Program > Conditions: Module - Flex Alert - Status - is/is not - active/not active In Program Details, now I see for Add To Program > Actions: System - Electricty Demand/Price Alert / Maximum Electricty Alert Any advice? Thanks, Chuck PS: I tried the Wiki but I could not understand the explanation.
Michel Kohanim Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Hi Chuck, You can safely ignore System - Electricty Demand/Price Alert Maximum Electricty Alert They are used to notify the clients (iPhone, Nokia, Admin Console) of some drastic event ... Now, as far as conditions, Flex Your Power is a signal that is either active or not active. When active, it means that all CA utilities have decided that there's too much load on the grid and thus they need your help. All you have to do is to make a program that looks for the Active signal and then changes your thermostat setpoints, lights, pool pumps/etc. accordingly. All you are doing is helping reduce the likelihood of blackouts. With kind regards, Michel Hi, I can't figure out how to use the Flex Your Power Feature.
