Baldwin Z-Wave dead bolt Jams

Featured Replies

Posted

Whenever I lock the deadbolt using the ISY994 hub the Baldwin Z-Wave dead bolt transitions into the JAMMED state.

The dead bolt successfully moves into position properly but then it attempts to lock again and again and eventually reports a jammed state. It's as though the lock signal is being sent over and over again. I currently only have two other Z-wave devices (a SOMFY RTS gateway and a dimmer). Thoughts?

Thoughts?

Once in a while my Kwikset deadbolt will report as jammed and in fact be latched. In my case, I think the bolt might be rubbing the edge of the hole or getting some resistance as it closes. Later this month I’m having the front door replaced and I’ll see if the issue persists. That’s my guess.

Thanks for the reply. I've investigated this possibility by testing the lock with the door open so that the dead bolt extends into mid-air. Unfortunately I get the same behavior - repeated attempts to extend the dead-bolt after it's been extended.
