GE Z-Wave Plus Outdoor Switch and ISY 994i Pro-zwave

I am hoping to replace an Insteon outdoor switch, 2634-222, with a GE Z-Wave Plus outdoor switch.  I'm wondering if I can control the new switch, controlling my Christmas lights, with a program running in my Insteon version 4.7.3.  Or is it necessary to upgrade to version 5.0.x?

Thanks,

Ron

I have two on my deck and they work fine under 4.7.

Was it necessary to purchase the z-wave hub or could you control completely from ISY?

I only have the ISY (zw). It controls them directly.

Thank you.  I can now order them in time for Christmas.

Make sure you get from a reliable seller and get the zwave PLUS version.

They look the same, but the range is much much better with the plus version. I have both kinds

I hope not. In an earlier post I saw it could be controlled directly from the ISY.

The poster may be referring to the zwave card in the ISY. I run a 100% zwave home and the only controller I have is the ISY with zwave card. No separate hub.

To be more precise..... you need  ISY with a Zwave dongle. With that it works perfectly.  I have 60+ Zwave devices operated from my ISY.

Thanks, that's what I have.
