Thanks for the post.  Looks good!  I like the extended range and backward compatibility.

The 500 is old by today's technology standards.  It was introduced around 2013-14.  Time to upgrade, maybe not..  Wonder if it will be bug free and when will the chips be available?

Hi all,

Here's where we stand with all things Z-Wave: the process of designing, FCC certification, and Z-Wave certification is just way too overwhelming and time consuming. i.e. we can become a Z-Wave centric company like AeoTec or HomeSeer in which case things will be easier. On the other hand, being dependent on third party modules is a bad idea (PLM for example). So, we have had internal discussions as to the shape of next gen ISY.

With kind regards,
Michel

Hi Michel,

Thanks for the input.  Coming from a previous work life I understand what the trials and tribulations can be.  Besides every programmer / engineer will do it a different way, and we the user always want that other neat feature.  What I like is that ISY is solid, not dependent on the cloud, and comes with knowledgeable (non overseas) support that speaks a language I can understand.

Happy holidays,
Keith
