Awesome looking box! Not sure about acting like a thermostat with a quad core CPU inside. I wonder how they intend to connect things to it that are normally hardwired. The animation shows the mounting bracket screwed to the wall with not even a power connection. Makes me think of a Wink Generation 3-4 though. Definitely have some potential for HA people. We have at least one Alexa and one GH in each room and they work well unless they are close to a working TV. As we add more device the names get too long though eg: Christmas outside red string, or was it Christmas porch red lights?, or was it Outside Christmas red string lights? Alexa keps reporting there is no such thing. GH would have had my whole house turned on by now. With more items the length of the name has to have more words. I could create rooms but I don't want to stand outside naked, to operate my Xmas lights, ISY falied to turn off last night. Damn! There goes the snow plough this morning again. Link to comment

Don't think we have pushed any buttons in either in months except maybe the bathrooms. My wife, the non-techie, is the one who adapted most quickly. Link to comment

Another thing that I noticed is the development of so many new technologies. While Zwave seems to have the wind in the back, the offering of wifi HA devices (without the need of a hub) is growing fast. These may not offer all the whistles & bells that we get from ISY, but for the average non-techie consumer these are an attractive choice and therefore it is likely that more and more devices will come to the market. I have often posted about Insteon versus Zwave, but now I believe that we have to look at a wider choice. Having 'discovered' Polyglot only a few weeks ago, I am enthusiastic about the expanding options of ISY. As I am far less techie than many in this forum I resisted getting a Raspberry Pi for a long time until some of you guided me through the process. The way that my ISY now controls my Nest and Chromecast devices has been, for me, revolutionary, and I can't wait for UDI to expand these options. Some of these new products on the market have convenient dashboards and I am hopeful (and confident) that ISY 6.X will have a more user friendly Administrative Console / Dashboard. Link to comment

Yeah... those WIFI devices that have an app... ugh. My father-in-law got a couple for Christmas from another family member. One of them is even a wall switch device, yet can only be controlled by the app. For a one-off thing, like controlling the lights for the Christmas tree, it made sense. But when getting into swapping switches, I was bummed to see they weren't z-wave. Since they were a gift from another family member, it wasn't like I could suggest he do something else.
