bigjimbo
I have been operating ISY994i successfully for over a year. Now I added the Z wave board and module and have some questions. When I add two Leviton DZPD3 modules via ISY994, they show up in the device tree as they should. When I command an ON or OFF from the admin console to either one of the Zlink modues, the module acts as it should but then I get the following messages. I have tried excluding the modules and then readding several times but still get the same results. Also, when I attempt to upgrade the Z wave firmware, I get the following error message. The firmware versioins are below: Any guidance would be appreciated, Thanks
mwester
Looks like you got the latest, newest, snazziest z-wave card -- there's no firmware updates to be applied to that card. Also looks like you're running the 4.x ISY code, and that doesn't support that latest, newest, snazziest z-wave card. You'll need to update to the latest, newest, snazziest, and still-in-beta-test-mode 5.x firmware, available here from this forum -- search for the 5.0.14 version to download and install manually. I notice also that your UI code doesn't match your ISY code in terms of version. That seems to sometimes sort of work -- but most often a mismatch like that results in woeful awful confusion for the ISY, the user, and for those on this forum who try to help the user sort out the unusual and sometimes extraordinary error messages one gets with such a mismatch! So, even if you decide to forego upgrading to 5.0.x, please do find the matching ISY UI code and use that -- it'll be better. If you upgrade your ISY to 5.0.x, then make sure to grab the latest UDI launcher, which will (among other things) make sure that your UI and ISY version always match. Finally, comms errors with z-wave are common. Often they happen due to a poor wireless mesh -- you need at least several (four is a good start) always-on powered plugged-in z-wave devices that can all communicate with each other to form that initial mesh. So if you have but one device, well, it'll work -- but only if its a few feet away from the ISY, in general.
bigjimbo
Thank you very much! Upgrading to 5.014 works fine. Z-wave devices working well.
