Not Using Portal

I’ve had my ISY994i and multiple switches, dimmers, and motion detectors at home controlling lights, garage doors, etc for a couple of years now.  I don’t use portal or mobilinc for remote monitoring or control.  I just login to my ISY via my phone and can monitor what’s on/off or change/activate whatever is needed when I’m away.  What am I missing by having not gone the portal or mobilinc path ?

Security of the hack intercepting your packet IP destinations with a hole punched through your router firewall. I do it too but ISY portal is much faster and offers voice access using google home and Alexa toys with very well done implementations

Voice access is cool I’m sure for those who have Alexa, Google, etc. I don’t think access is any faster though and I use port 443 (which is open anyway) to come in to my home network then hit a reverse proxy on my firewall, offload SSL encryption, and send traffic internally via port 8080 to the ISY.  My access link is something like:  https://isy994.mydomain.com
