Zigbee radio?

Recommended Posts

Am I loosing it, or wasn't there an option to buy a Zigbee radio to install into an existing ISY? I see the smart meter Zigbee radio for sale, but I'm looking to integrate my Brultech GEM that just arrived.

Thanks!

I think there are 2 things going on here.

  1. There is a brultech add-on module you'll find in the Admin Console under Help / Purchase modules

  2. There's an Zigbee SEP 1.1 Certified add on card option you can plug into your ISY so it can talk to your AMI smart meter.  There are 2 add-on modules that go with that under Purchase Modules
    • Open Auto Demand/Response Module
    • Utility Meter Module
    • Its important to know that if you already have a card in your ISY for zwave (or other card) this won't work, the ISY has only 1 card slot in it. If you are insteon only, you'll be fine

If you are interested in a Zigbee SEP 1.1card and can't find one, let me know. I got an ISY ZS with the card in it with the intention of hooking it up, and my power company will not let me associate with my meter. I can see it, but I can't authenticate.

For some reason I had it in my head that there were two different Zigbee radios, one specially for smart meters and then a different one... I would happily be wrong here.

Module, check!

This ISY has no z wave card, so all good there.

Thanks for the help!

There is a standard zigbee card as a separare product, for consumer zigbee. My uinderstanding is that it primarily udi supports it for a few RCS thermostats.

I don't know either way if it connects with bruhl. @Michel Kohanim?

@Michel Kohanim, could you confirm that the Zigbee SEP 1.1 card is the correct card to integrate a GEM?

Thanks!
