carealtor Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 I just replaced all my sprinkler valves (13 of them) and am wiring them up now. It seems like such a rat's nest of wires out there in the open for everyone to see. Anyone been able to come up with a way to tidy this up? What have you done?
paulbates Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Here's an example for the rainmachine HD which can be difficult to integrate, especially with more than one 13 wire bundle Paul
carealtor Posted April 14, 2019 Author Posted April 14, 2019 Thanks, but no, I'm talking about the wiring at the valves. Not mine, but it illustrates the issue nicely.
paulbates Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Ok, wasn't sure which one you meant. My system has 2 irrigation work boxes that mount under ground, with a lid at the surface. It's filled with a small gravel field so no standing water. You could do the wiring there. Run each relay's wiring vertically to the ground along the stand pipe, and then underground to the box which should be in the middle of them. This part of this video shows what I mean. 24vac connections can potentially make a spark.. Not sure if you would have dry leaves, but those connections should not be out in the open Paul
carealtor Posted April 19, 2019 Author Posted April 19, 2019 The only thing I ended up doing was putting the pairs of wires into my drill and twisting them into nice twisted pairs. Helped a LOT.
