leonpc Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 I have been using Zwave with ISY for a while now. (Like about 4 years) I do not have that many Zwave devices but between blinds and thermostats and other switches and outlets I have about 25 devices. I upgraded to ISY firmware v5.0.15B during the past week and have been running with it without issues. Hovever, tonight I wanted to add a switch that I installed a bit earlier. I opened the ISY994 Admin Console and selected the Zwave dropdown but I had no option to add a device. I only have 4 options. Any help will do. Thanks
oberkc Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 Well, that is sure interesting. When I select the zwave option, I get:
leonpc Posted May 6, 2019 Author Posted May 6, 2019 I have checked and the firmware and UI versions match
mwester Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 Looks like your ISY is no longer the primary controller of your z-wave network - presumably that was transferred to another controller either deliberately or accidentally? You'll need to find that other controller, and follow its instructions to shift the primary status back to the ISY, I'd imagine -- there's no way to "seize control" with z-wave.
leonpc Posted May 6, 2019 Author Posted May 6, 2019 That is what it looks like to me as well. The only problem is that I do not have another zwave controller to transfer to...
leonpc Posted May 7, 2019 Author Posted May 7, 2019 Just as an FYI... Looked everywhere for a solution. It really looked like I had transferred my ISY zwave primary control to another controller and that ISY was a secondary based on the options I could see. I could not do a network heal or anything else. I restarted ISY a time or two, tried synchronizing the ISY nodes etc etc. I finally decided that I would have to bite the bullet and reset the Zwave module to factory default and then re-add the modules back in. (I did not want to go there because I have 2 modules in very difficult spots to get to. But then I remembered that when I updated the zwave module to the zwave 5 module that I created a backup before the upgrade and then after testing for a week or two I backed up the zwave module again. I decided to try and restore the zwave network. This worked. I lost the last 2 modules I have added but at least I am back to have a working zwave network controlled by ISY. However I would really like to figure out what caused this. No doubt I hit a key or something but I just wish I knew why I lost my zwave network configuration. As mentioned above I do not even own another zwave controller. Thanks for the suggestions.
