BobHelms Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 I have tried, twice now, to purchase a new PLM. I thinking I read in these forums that the current revision is 2.42. I am buying from Amazon and I got a revision 2.3 from them today. What is the newest "working" revision of this device and where is the best place to get that revision? TIA for any help received. Techman Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 2.3 is the PLM hardware version The PLM firmware version can be accessed from the Admin console. As of a few years ago the firmware was 9E and the hardware version was 2.3 The 4 digit date code on the PLM is the date it was manufactured. I'm not sure what the current shipping version of the PLM is, but if you want the latest release it probably best to buy directly from Smarthome and not from a 3rd party.
Brian H Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Hardware revision 2.4 with internal firmware of 9E . Has been the latest I have seen and I got mine awhile back. I have seen very recent reports here from users getting V2.4 directly from Smarthome. With Amazon. I have found there can be differences. If the order is filled and shipped by Amazon, is from an Amazon Merchants store filled and shipped by Amazon or filled and shipped directly from the merchants location. Amazon Merchants may have stock on their shelves for who knows how long.
BobHelms Posted May 8, 2019 Author Posted May 8, 2019 After another shipment I now have a revision 2.3 PLM from Amazon. Do you know of any issues with this revision? I'll test it tomorrow when I get the 994i installed. Do you know of any significant differences between 2.3 and 2.4? TIA for any help received.
Brian H Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 2413S PLM Hardware 2.4, Date Code:3817, Firmware 9E Capacitors are the same as in the V2.3. C3 6.8Uf/250V Don't recognize the brand logo. C11 100uF/25V Fujucon C8 10uF/16V Fujicon C7 and C13. Now 100uF/50V Fujicon capacitor. The V2.1 has a 100uF/35V Small enough to fit the PC Board without bending over. Mounted parallel to the PCB and fastened with component glue. Too large to fit in PCB Pads location vertically. Could not read the Fujicon series markings. So I can't say if it has better qualities. Most of the changes are on the new Serial Daughter Board. The RS232 interface chip is a TI brand MAX232EI. Also in the V2.3 From Specializations sheet: • ESD Protection for RS-232 Bus Pins – ±15-kV Human-Body Model (HBM) – ±8-kV IEC61000-4-2, Contact Discharge – ±15-kV IEC61000-4-2, Air-Gap Discharge There are two added resistors and two added three pin diodes in the RS232 signals to the outside world.
