arzoo Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 I recently purchased the Aeotec ZW121-A LED Strip because it supports z-wave out of the box. I'm new to controlling z-wave devices with the ISY944 (with z-wave module), but getting the LED strip added to the ISY was not difficult. Four devices were added; ZW 003 Color Switch ZW 003 Dimmer Switch ZW 003 Lifeline ZW 003 Lifeline The Dimmer Switch works as expected. Not sure what the Lifeline devices are for but they only have a Status value. It's the Color Switch I'm having trouble with. It displays the 0-255 value for Warm White, Cold White, Red, Green, and Blue. There are three buttons; Fade Up, Fade Down, Fade Stop. For each button you can choose from a drop-down one of the five primary modes; Warm White, Cold White, Red, Green, and Blue. The problem I'm having is there doesn't seem to be any way to set a color value other than 0 or 255. For example, if I select Red for the Fade Up, the LEDs turn on red at 255. Select Red for Fade Down and they go off. Fade Stop doesn't seem to do anything? So basically I can just mix the three colors full on or full off. The DImmer Switch allows me to dim whatever composite color is set, but not the individual RGB channels. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to make this work? Or maybe there's a better z-wave LED strip I should try? Thanks!
lilyoyo1 Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 What is under the drop down boxes that says warm white? Most likely to bed to use parameters to set specific colors. Have you checked the owners manual to see what the parameters are? Personally I'd use hue or lifx. Much easier to set colors and get exactly what you want

Not sure why the buttons are labeled "Fade" since it's functioning more like on and off. Can hue or lifx be controlled by the ISY?
lilyoyo1 Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Yes. If you have 5.0 firmware you can do it via Polyglot which will treat them like a standard device or you can use the network module and configure them that way. I use the network module for mine as it was setup prior to nodeservers. I also like the fact that if I want different color schemes, I simply update my scenes in the hue app and not have to touch the isy for any adjustments.

lilyoyo1 Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 You can set it up on a raspberry pi or wait until October when UDI releases their new polisy controller. If you dont want to do either one, network resources works just as well.
