Mecheng70 Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 Does the ISY support the two switches that use S2 security protocol: ZEN26 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K1T8Z74/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A1XO9WGZO0A93O&th=1 ZEN27 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K37BNMC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1XO9WGZO0A93O&psc=1 Just bought a new (to me) house and starting to replace the wall switches. These are a little cheaper than the GE/Jascos and I am considering the Zooz due to having to purchase about 20 switches. TIA.
simplextech Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 No ISY does not currently support S2 security. As far as I know currently no controller fully supports S2 as the last I checked (Z-Wave Alliance) the standard has not been fully baked yet. However this doesn't stop the marketing hype about it. Will the switches work with the ISY? Yes they will fall back to standard security or no security. Personally unless it's a barrier class (lock) I don't include secure anyways as it has always slowed down z-wave speed.
Mecheng70 Posted August 12, 2019 Author Posted August 12, 2019 Thanks. Appreciate the response. After further research the Zooz brand is not had great reviews. I am thinking about circling back to the ge jasco switches from zwave outlet. I have had success with them in the past. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
simplextech Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 Zooz are "ok" budget devices. They work but there aren't any bells and whistles. One unique feature of the Zooz switches is they can be used in a 3-way with a regular dumb switch. The GE/jasco are rock solid but again not a lot of bells and whistles.

I have a 3-way where the "auxiliary" switch box is in a concrete wall with no space for Zwave switches. The Inovelli (now Zooz also) solution has been ideal for me. BTW I have both a Zooz 21 and a 22 (ON/OFF and Dimmer). They work fine.
