smarthome_newbie Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Only 1 switch is working on my 3 and 4 way switches. Am I supposed to link them? It's a new house I haven't moved into yet so ISY is not set up yet. Need to do everything manual. It is my understanding that all switches should control the lights independently without linking. Is that wrong? Electrician installed. Maybe he connected them all to a load. Isn't only one supposed to be connected to a load?
hart2hart Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 The switch controlling the light is tied to load. They will need to be linked to form a scene. Best option is to Add the ISY and PLM to the house first. Add the switches to ISY. Create scenes in ISY for each room/circuit. Add all applicable switches as controllers to that rooms scene. If you need to do temporary solution, you could use standard Insteon linking and remove links and reestablish them when you add the ISY.
smarthome_newbie Posted August 31, 2019 Author Posted August 31, 2019 I’m just trying to make sure electrician installed correctly for now. So you are saying that it’s normal for only one switch to work right now until I link the others in that chain? Thanks.
