It's been a while, I'm sure things have changed and not sure if all the stuff I'm reading has been properly updated on the various internet parts.

I've got the isy994i (no z-wave or anything extra).

I *had* the Mobilinc Portal, but switched over to  ISY Portal

I have the Mobilinc App (iphone and android). The paid version.

We have Amazon Alexa/echo

That being said:

1) Is it still the case that Amazon Alexa integration only works with the ISY Portal? (vs. Mobilinc Portal)?

2) Looks like Agave ISY controller is a "new" app that could replace Mobilinc?  Not sure what the difference would be in terms of pros/cons.  We don't use geofencing (although I vaguely recall at one time it wouldn't work unless you had the Mobilinc Portal)?   Although it looks like it's a paid app as well to add in all the things necessary.  Very confused by all the options.

3) Other than the very annoying Android "feature" with Mobilinc (seems any time one switches out their phone setting up Mobilinc is a royal PITA - only on Android) - and the random Alexa losing connection to the ISY, (the mobilinc app works fine, it's "her" that suddenly decides to not see things), is there any compelling reason for me to switch apps, or portals?  (well portal may not be an option if that's the only way to get "her" to work--LOL).

1) I believe that the answer is Yes but maybe Michel can weigh in.

2) Agave is pretty good.  The developer is active in the community.  Geofencing is not part of Agave.  I have had better luck with tasker (Android).  Did use IFTTT for a while but that didn't work as well and therefore switched back to Tasker.

3) Haven't seen too many issues with the ISY portal with either alexa or google home, that haven't been resolved.  I just removed all of the Alexa stuff out of the new house and only using Google Home.

1) Alexa integration clearly works with MobiLinc Connect as well.  The UDI Portal provides access to Polyglot Cloud, which is a plus if your ISY is running the most recent BETA firmware.

2) Agave is a fine app on both Android and iOS, and it works well with the UDI Portal.  MobiLinc X is a recent release for MobiLinc on both Android and iOS.  For the moment, MobiLinc X requires MobiLinc Connect for best results.

3) UDI Portal reliability seems fine.  I haven't seen much (if any) teeth gnashing about the MobiLinc Connect on  this forum, so I suspect the reliability is comparable to the UDI Portal.
