Reduce Schlage Connect Delay

I have just added the Z-wave module and a Schlage Connect deadbolt to my system.

The ISY is about 6 feet from the deadbolt and inside a closet (cheap hollow closet door).

I have no other Z-Wave devices.

When running scenes or trying to toggle the deadbolt from my phone using MobiLincPro, There is a bit of delay to initiate the physical state change of the lock.  Once it makes one change, it is usually faster on the second change.  Ie i unlock the door.  There is delay.  Then if I go to lock the door immediately after, there is far less delay in the locking. 

Should i add a Z-wave range extender(if so, which?) or do something else to reduce this delay....or is is just working as expected?

Locks must be woke up which is why there is an additional delay at first. The second command is faster since the lock is awake. At your distance, an extender probably wouldn't help.
