JacquesB Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Hi, Here are more features I would like to have in the ISY. 1-Notify One The ISY can be configured for sending alerts to many different addresses. Unfortunately, it is an all or nothing function. Alerts are sent to all addresses, or not at all. I would like to have the opportunity to send different alerts to different addresses. Basic "feedback" alerts would be sent to an internal e-mail address on my local mail server while those associated with problems would be sent to my BlackBerry. 2-Specify a brightness level from the web page When using the ISY's basic web interface, lights can be turned On or Off. Bright and Dim are also available, but only as small steps from the actual level. I would like to have a field for setting a level (ex : 45%) and have the lights adjusted to that specific level. 3-Power toggle One of the function I created in the ISY is a timer for a device plugged in an OutletLinc. I would like to receive a "feedback" or "notice" when this timer expires and turns off the OL, but not as an e-mail. I would like to flash the lights in 3 differents room instead. The best way for that would be to program "power toggle" as an action in the ISY. When running the program, the ISY would look at the light's status first. If they are On, it will send an Off and if they are Off, it will send an On. A simple program action would be Set Insteon Device1 PowerToggle Wait 1 sec Set Insteon Device1 PowerToggle In waiting for the status matrix, the PowerToggle action could be limited to single devices an not scenes. Hope to help you making the ISY just better, Jacques
Michel Kohanim Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Hello Jacques, Thanks again for your feedback. 1 & 2 are already on our list. I will add 3 on our list but it will have a very low priority simply because there's a workaround with Repeat. Thanks again so very much, With kind regards, Michel
JacquesB Posted July 20, 2009 Author Posted July 20, 2009 Hi, excuse my poor understanding, but how do you use the repeat as a work-around for power toggle ? If you include the device status in the IF part of a program, it turns false after its first action and the program stops. If it is not in the IF part, you don't know in which state the device was when the program started, so you can not put it back in that same state. The only way around I can found is a complete structure like the one I posted for my garage door manager with a lot of variable and as many as 8 different status and no repeat. How can you do it more easily with repeats ? Jacques
Michel Kohanim Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Hi Jacques, No, please excuse me. I was not aware that you would like to use the same device in the condition. Now, I understand what you mean ... With kind regards, Michel Hi, excuse my poor understanding, but how do you use the repeat as a work-around for power toggle ?
