Unable to add on/off sensor to ISY

After adding address of device and selecting "ok", the dialog box disappears and the device is not added.  I put it in linking mode, went to link management and selected add new device.  I believe I'm doing it correctly.  Any ideas?

Choose the sensor you're using from the do down. Also make sure your UI and firmware match

I chose the correct sensor from the drop down.  I am able to add a motion sensor so I assume UI and firmware match.  Thoughts?

Don't assume as it may not be related. Just click on the help | about menu at the top of admin console.

Are you sure that device isn't already in the device tree? What are the exact steps that you took to add the device (I'm chronological order). Complete details are needed

Select new Insteon device in admin console.

Enter address found on back of device.

Name the device.

Select model number then okay.

Put device in communication mode then OK.

Nothing happens.  Device is not in tree.  I tried another device, same model, with same result.

You can try factory resetting the sensor and then go to Link Management and select to Link a Sensor / Open/Close Sensor.

I ran into an issue awhile back related to old vs. new open/close sensors. If I explicitly identified the sensor in the drop-down, it would not link but if I used "Link a Sensor", it worked.

You should open your event viewer, set it for level-3 and then try to link the open/close sensor again. If it doesn't work, you can save the log and then submit a ticket by navigating to here:

https://www.universal-devices.com/contact-us

There is a link in the middle of the page to submit a new ticket.

Also be sure to provide the version of ISY and model of open/close sensor you are trying to link.
