Using variable as motion sensor in Amazon Echo routine

Featured Replies

When using ISY variables as motion sensors to act as triggers in Amazon Echo routines, there is often a 5-30 second delay before my Echo’s trigger the routine. Has anyone found a way around this?  It seems odd that Amazon would set such a high polling interval especially for device triggers.

If it's on the first trigger of it then that's just internet congestion/latency and the solution is to NOT USE cloud based integrations.  If it's on a repeated one there is a Amazon enforced cooldown for re-triggers.  Depending on what it is there's likely a better local solution available.  Of course it's probably not the cheap solution.
