Brian H
This morning my ISY99i changed its date to Monday 08/25/1941. Sunrise 12:16:12 AM. Sunset 12:07:09 PM. My 4:50 AM program ran at around 9:00 AM and that is how I noticed it. This was at approximately 9:00 AM EDT of Saturday 09/12/2009. I have a custom location matching my towns coordinates. Sync every 24 hours. pool.ntp.org is the address used. The 4:50 AM and 6:40 AM scenes ran normally this morning. So the change must have happened between 6:40 AM and 9:00 AM today. Have turned off auto sync for now and will occasionally just do a sync to computer time. A sync to computer corrected the time; date and Sunrise and Sunset times. 2.7.6 firmware with weather and network plug ins. I did save the LOG in txt form. Link to comment
chuckl
I tunred my NTP sync off when I encountered the error last on 9/5. Since then, the unit hasn't time tripped. I know it's ideal to use the built in function to have the unit sync itself via the web. Hopefully, the UDI crew will discover something soon. Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
Hi Brian and Chuck, Would you be kind enough to try the following ntp servers and let me know if the probelm persists? 1.north-america.pool.ntp.org 2.north-america.pool.ntp.org 3.north-america.pool.ntp.org Please note that 1, 2, and 3 are all part of the URL. I am currently using: 1.north-america.pool.ntp.org With kind regards, Michel Link to comment
Brian H
OK will give it a try. I use 24 hour intervals. Do you want more often? Link to comment
chuckl
Hi Brian and Michel, I'll use 3.north-america.pool.ntp.org as my link and 6 hour intervals. Chuck Link to comment
chuckl
I just responded to your note about using the 3rd link in the list. 1) I rechecked the checkbox to the NTP line 2) I cut and pasted the 3rd link into the edit box for the URL 3) I pressed the “Save†button. 4) I pressed the "Synchronize Now" button 5) It's now 8/26/1941 @ 4:08AM (I sent you a screenshot.) I'm reverting back to manually sync'ing with the PC and disabling NTP. PS: If it's any help, I'm using the ISY with HomeSeer via Bob's ISY plug-in. Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
Hi all, Thanks so very much for your patience. It would be great if you could tell me whether or not you have any of the following modules installed/integrated with your ISY: 1. Networking 2. Weatherbug 3. HomeSeer plugin Chuck has been kind enough to install our 2.7.7 alpha to see if there are any improvements. I'll keep everyone posted with the results. Thanks again and with kind regards, Michel Link to comment

markens
It would be great if you could tell me whether or not you have any of the following modules installed/integrated with your ISY:1. Networking 2. Weatherbug 3. HomeSeer plugin I have 1 and 2 installed. My ISY is still set to auto sync every 24 hours to pool.ntp.org (no change), and I have not seen a repeat of the 1941 problem since the first occurrence Sept 2. --Mark Link to comment
Brian H
Networking Weatherbug. Both Installed 08/17/2009 This was the first time it happend to me. I did notice a log note of: 0 CLI-WBu System -140005 as the last correct dated entry. That said I do see an occasional 0 WBug System -14???? Entry but maybe one a day and I do 60 second updates. I thought that maybe just an error accessing the site from time to time. I am trying 6 hours on 2.north-america.pool.ntp.org right now. Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
Hi Brian, thanks so very much. Please do keep and eye and let me know if you still get this error. Chuck had this error even with the North America NTP server and now he's trying our 2.7.7 alpha. With kind regards, Michel Networking Weatherbug. Brian H
OK will keep you informed. Only thing so far was a RED! one time next to the ntp time address area. I looked at the wiki and latest pdf file and didn't see a red! mentioned. I believe it means that it could not get the time data. I believe the log showed something like that also. Link to comment
DBaldwin
Don't know if this helps, but using Weatherbug plugin only, beta ver 2.7.6 and using ntp.pool.org with absolutly no 1941 date problems. It would be great if you could tell me whether or not you have any of the following modules installed/integrated with your ISY:1. Networking 2. Weatherbug 3. HomeSeer plugin Link to comment
chuckl
I'm happy to report that I have had no issues thus far and no time trips. It's been about a week since installing the 2.7.7 version and had the NTP server set to 3.north-america.pool.ntp.org. I also do like Brian's idea of some user settable threshold in the ISY for allowing time changes. Since I'm running HomeSeer as well, I've asked Bob if there's a way to query the time from the ISY through his plug-in. If so, a user may write a script to check for time syncs between the units as a safety measure. Hopefully this is possible as this would be a quicker stopgap measure for HS users. Link to comment

TJF1960
FWIW I have been fortunate and have had no issues with the date/time change. I am on pool.ntp.org for time updates. I did change the sync. to every hour a while back. I did loose network connection this morning at 1:09:53 AM thru no fault of the ISY but up to that time no issues. My logs go back to 9/6/09. aLf
I was happy that my ISY never reverted to old dates. Today it did, 1965! What is the status of this and what should I do going forward? Thanks, aLf Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
Hi Tim, I am so very sorry! This has been fixed in 2.7.7 and above. If you want to upgrade to 2.7.7 (very stable), please send an email to tech@universal-devices.com. If you want to go to 2.7.9 alpha which supports V2 thermostats as well, then please register here and you'll be sent the instructions: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?t=930 With kind regards, Michel I was happy that my ISY never reverted to old dates. nachthorn
I too was experiencing occasional system date reversions back to 1941. After recently upgrading to firmware 2.7.9, the problem appears to be resolved. Link to comment
