djboombox Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Hello everyone ? Thank you for taking your time to read me. I have a Milock lock and a lock controller #2862-222. Although it says in the little guide that this controller transmits up to 30 feet, the closest I can install my controller is 15 feet from the door. And physically he can see both of them (so there is no obstacle between them). I know that my problem is only a problem of distance because sometimes the signal surrenders and other times it doesn't (and this in the same day). I tried several things including , redoing the sync between my controller and the door lock, changing my battery in my lock etc.. It works for a while and then to "plug and unplug" the controller from the wall, it works again and then it stops again. However, if I just touch the controller with my finger I increase my chances of operation by 80-90% because I am using it as an antenna. Of course I can't stay there all day and I can't afford to hire someone to become a human antenna ? My question is, for a guy like me who doesn't have an electronics course, is there a way to increase the transmission distance of this controller box? Thanks ? DjBoomBoX
lilyoyo1 Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 I would just install it closer to the lock. Technically you could add an antenna but you risk damaging a device that they no longer make.
