cam Posted June 18, 2020 Posted June 18, 2020 I have an ISY994iZW/Pro at home working great. I just purchased another ISY994iZW/Pro for the cabin. However, when I log into my new ISY the Zwave menu is gone (not there). Did they ship me the wrong device? Do I need to install something?

cam Posted June 18, 2020 Author Posted June 18, 2020 Product: ISY 994i/IR PRO (1110) I even went through the process of purchasing a ZWAVE module but it says and when it installs it says it can't find the zwave dongle.

cam Posted June 18, 2020 Author Posted June 18, 2020 Back has 3 screws... unscrewed them but where the 4th screw would/should be it will not allow me to pull it off all the way... not do I know what a zwave dongle would look like. When I purchased the zwave module for $1, it rebooted and it now has the Zwave menu. The menu says "Zwave dongle not responding" and "Upgrade Z-wave firmware". When I clicked upgrade zwave firmware and watch the event viewer... I see on "Cannot set global RX options", "Cannot set noise threshold for channel 0 (and channel 1)" "restarting zwave dongle"

Once open you will see a small bubble gum memory stick looking card / dongle which should be attached to a very thin black wire with a round headed connector.Where did you purchase this hardware from and does the invoice state it’s a Z-Wave model?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
cam Posted June 18, 2020 Author Posted June 18, 2020 (edited) I purchased it off Amazon... Amazon title, paperwork says ISY994iZW+/IR-PRO. I attempted to pry off back again but it appears there's a front center near power where it will not pop off. I can see the circuit board in there from the backside but nothing else. Amazon order desc: ISY994iZW+/IR-PRO Universal Devices Home... Edited June 18, 2020 by cam

If the Z-Wave dongle is present there may also be a blue LED on the back next to the Port A. Edited June 18, 2020 by Teken

cam Posted June 18, 2020 Author Posted June 18, 2020 Nope... there's an empty cavity area next to Port A. The only blue light is on the front side coming from the power LED.

I honestly can't say if the blue LED is present for all Z-Wave cards as UDI iterated a couple times. Regardless, if in doubt there are a couple of things you could do to make it a little more painless. - Send the unit back insuring you document the UUID and submit a technical support request to have the Z-Wave license revoked and refunded. - Keep the unit and create a technical support request with UDI and provide them the Amazon invoice, UUID, and they could ship out the missing dongle. Brian H Posted June 18, 2020 Posted June 18, 2020 (edited) The label on the bottom should have the ZWave module is installed in the part number. On the later models there is a screw under the model label near the back edge. I had to punch through one of mine to open it. Here is some information on the ZWave board, installing if you bought it separately or just want to see the general information on it. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Z-Wave:_Ordering/Assembly_Instructions Unless the Amazon vendor added a module. The box's label would indicates it was not a ZWave enabled ISY994i from the factory. The $1.00 purchase would enable a board you purchased separately and add it yourself.
