GE / Jasco Pairing Issue

Featured Replies

I am a recent convert from SmartThings and I am having some issues getting all devices to connect to the ISY.  I have a wide variety of devices with varying ages.  I am having some issue connecting a couple GE / Jasco switches.  They are older, prob 5-6 years, but I have been able to pair some that I believe are from the same time period.  I have excluded them from SmartThings.  There are nodes relatively close that are connected.  Could this be a distance issue?  If so what is the approx max distance for pairing from the hub?  Can the ISY use the existing paired switches as repeaters to see the new switches or is that only once connected?  Thanks in advance.  I am pretty excited by the potentials here....

Only once connected will a controller know about other devices.

Unfortunately older devices do not use network wide inclusion which allows other devices to repeat their signal to a controller during the inclusion process. They will need to be within range of the isy for that. There is no max distance. My rule of thumb is 20 to 30 feet max. Generally I assume 10 when walls are included. Every house is different so mileage can vary.
