2450 and Garage Door control momentary relay setting

I just checked mine with the ISY99i and 2 seconds is the lowest latch time available.

Yea, that is exactly what I saw, but according to SH, it is possible to set it lower with something like the ISY. Hopefully there is a way to do it...

Since it looks like 2 seconds is the lowest the current software can do, can this be fixed? The SH website seems to imply that systems like the ISY can set it down toe .2 seconds, which should be fine.

Hi smileyw,

The wiki states:

Momentary duration can be set manually anywhere from 2 seconds up to 24 seconds or for 30 minutes; 0.2 - 1.8 hours.

So, it seems that the minimum is 2 seconds or 0.2 hours. Not .2 seconds.

With kind regards,

Michel

That statement in the Wiki reads strangely to me. I would reach out to Smarthome for confirmation, smileyw. 0.2 hours is 12 minutes. It doesn't make sense that Homeseer would be limited to 12-108 minutes (1.8 hours) when the device itself supports a range below that.

Perhaps it's a typo?

Edit: I'm suggesting that the range is in fact 0.2 seconds to 1.8 hours.

I am using my elk to open my garage doors. I took one of my remote garage door openers and wired it up to one of the relays on the elk. I wrote a rule that then closes the relay for 2 seconds which is effectively the same thing as holding down the button on the remote for 2 seconds. It works every time. I don't know how the SH one works, but with my garage door opener connected to my elk, 2 seconds of closure on the relay works perfectly.

Have you tried disabling the momentary option and simply creating an ISY Program that will turn off the relay any time it is turned on?

There would be some delay involved, but I bet it would quicker than 2 seconds.

You know, I read that as seconds not hours. I wonder what they are talking about?

I will try again to wire the opener up and see what happens. I got a replacement 2450 to fix a problem where it doesn't store all the settings after power outage, but the new one is now better since they are the same firmware. I will have to go back to SH again and make sure they give me the newest (v34) firmware.

With the set button 2 seconds is the minimum.

Through software it can go to 0.2 seconds. If I read the data for the I/OLinc Smartlabs gave us in the SDK correctly, but I see a newer 1.1 rev is mentioned in the wiki so who knows.

Funny, I guess the UD guys heard this thread, but didn't say anything... I just saw that in 2.7.7 you can set the IO linc in 1/10's of seconds :)

Thanks!!!
