matapan Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Ever wonder if your countdown lighting programs are optimal or not? Using a set of X10 motion sensors and ISY, it's probably possible to use the ISY as a data collection device for optimizing your lighting programs. First, motion sensors could be placed at entrances of each room in an apartment or house. Next, programs are written to send notifications when a motion sensor is triggered. Collect those emails and filter them to be used in a spreadsheet, based on time and sensor address. Identify clusters of entries grouped together by time sequence. Use the data to create programs that turn on a group of lights in a sequence for the most common paths taken throughout the apartment or house. On times set according to the log data.
