woodchip Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 I’m having problems with my new Z-Wave series 500 dongle and, if the issues cannot be resolved soon, I’m considering downwardly migrating from release 5.3.0 back to release 4.8.0 with the old series 300. I’ve been a UDI/ISY user and advocate since 2012. It’s been a flexible, solid and stable platform from the start (only 2 or 3 hardware issues over 8 years of 24/7 use). Here are my questions/concerns: 1. If this topic has already been addressed could someone please direct me to that thread? I did a search but did not find specific answers. 2. Is the process as simple as performing a factory reset on the ISY than restoring my release 4.8.0 ISY backup? 3. When should the Z-Wave dongles be swapped out (prior to or after the factory reset)?
Michel Kohanim Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 @JKilbourn, I am so very sorry to hear. I know you have a ticket and Chris is working on resolving it. Regardless, if you want to go back, what you need to do is this: 1. Factory reset your ISY (make sure you have a good backup of both 5.x and 4.x) 2. Put the 300 series back 3. Downgrade to 4.8 4. Restore a 4.8 backup 5. Do Z-Wave | Tools | Synchronize | All With kind regards, Michel
woodchip Posted October 16, 2020 Author Posted October 16, 2020 Thank you Michel, you folks do a great job of customer service. I am having another issue with my account (not forum) log in and will be opening another ticket on that problem soon. Thanks again for your assistance. Regards 1
