I downloaded Java and followed instructions here: pdf setup guide when I get to clicking the link for the ...start.jnlp I have problems. no desktop app is created. when I create one, it is an internet explorer link like this: and when i click it, it does this: and when I click "open" it does nothing. any suggestions? someguy Posted December 3, 2020 Author Posted December 3, 2020 no luck trying these things. by the way, I can access my isy using the "isy Launcher" from my other computers. it is just this one that is troubled. any other suggestions?
Outlander Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 I had this same issue when I jumped to Windows 10. You need to install Java for Windows before any of those instructions work. 1

someguy Posted December 5, 2020 Author Posted December 5, 2020 PROBLEM SOLUTION HERE: Superuser.com forum Quote Had this issue with an associate at my company. The problem was that the .jnlp application was only trying to open in IE instead of the Javaws aplication. What I did was right click on the file > Open with > Browse > C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_221\bin\javaws I also marked a check by the box that said set this as default app. The issue no longer affects us this was what the problem was. I fixed it using the above. just posting it to help anyone else that might have the same problem. 1
