New Website - Simplex

Recommended Posts

After about a year of no updates and bland design I took some time to renovate.

The goal of the project is to bring all of the integrations and documentation into a single site.  I don't think I'll add a dedicated forum as I think this forum is great :)

Please provide feedback.  I'm not a web dev so be gentle on design but still point it out :) and other than documentation which is big.  What other resources, features would be good?

As I look at your web page, I cannot help but wonder what it is you do that should interest me.  I can see that you do it for residential customers and that you like "simple".  I see that you have partners and like to integrate devices and install things.  What I have trouble seeing is the problem for which you offer "solutions".  Are you offering automation?  Ease of control?  Of what (lighting?  Audio?)?

I see "integration" mentioned often, and my impression is that your primary purpose is to integrate.  But...it is not obvious to me from this website what is the end goal for this integration.  I see "integration" as a possible means to an end, but not necessarily having any value in itself unless it actually achieves a desired end state.  How is this "integration" going to make my life better?

I can see you didn't follow any of the integration links...  no worries the site is still in early stages of content being migrated over.

Actually, I did click on various links.

Well granted there's not a lot of content published yet as the framework is the focus.  Here's a bread crumb of end ideas and use your imagination for filling in the content spaces.

From the main page:

Integrations -> Universal Device -> Click the Sonos Logo

This will provide information on the Sonos NodeServers that are available, links to them.  To be added are more details, info and link to their documentation pages and a link back to this forum to their respective sub-forum section.  I'm hoping @Michel Kohanim will help with the sub-forum setup? :)

I think I may add some code to make the logo's focus adjust/pop a bit when hovered over to make it more noticeable that they do something.  Main goal for the integrations and listing is not by integration name as that's not always intuitive and most users are looking for a integration for their "device" which they at least know the brand of....sometimes :)
