Thermostat override

I have an Insteon thermostat.  Have a program that turns up the heat in the day.  Another that turns it down when I leave the house or it is nighttime.  Everything works fine.  But every once in awhile we want to turn the heat up or air conditioner on.  So we click on the the thermostat up or down buttons and change the temperature. range.  My problem is that, within a few minutes, the program restores its temperature setting, presumably when it next queries the thermostat.  How do I change the program so it allows for a manual override at teh thermostat or through Alexa.  Obviously when nighttime comes, I want the nighttime program to run and the daytime program to run the next morning.  thanks

I think I figured out the problem.  But not yet the solution.  There are programs built into the thermostat itself.  For Wake, Leave, Return, Sleep.  Which have their own times to go on and of.  Trying to figure out how to turn off those programs now that I want ISY to control the temperatures.  Should be easy once I figure that out.

just spoke with Insteon support.  They say there is no way to turn off the built in programs in the thermostat.  Only to modify them.  So I can have the ISY control the temperature setting 24/7.  But then I lose the ability to change the temperature settings manually (on the fly) either through Alexa or on the thermostat.  Because the ISY settings immediately takes over and reverts the thermostat to the ISY programmed setting.  Simply put, I want to program ISY to set one temperature at 7:00 am and another at 10:30pm.  In between I want to be able to change the setting on the thermostat by using its buttons or Alexa.

-  if I have the first ISY program run from 7:00 - 10:30 and the second from 10:31 to 6:59. I can't change the temperature manually (on thermostat or by Alexa).  ISY rules.

-  if i just have the first ISY program run at 7:00 and the second run at 10:30, then the built in programs on the thermostat take over in between and changes the thermostat settings when the time hits Wake, Leave, Return and Sleep.  I can now change manually but lose the flexibility to have ISY programs know when it is summer or winter, when I am away, when I come home, when I am on extended vacation, when I open front door, etc.

-  I have tried HOLD on the thermostat, But when I manually adjust, the HOLD setting disappears and I am back to the above.

-  don't know what PROGRAM AUTO Mode does on the ISY console.  But it seems to just freeze the thermostat from accepting any changes.

HELP!!!!

Sorry for the late reply to your issue.  I have 5 Insteon stats (2 zones, 2 wired master zone stats and 2 remote stats and one wired stat used for damper control) and none of them do what you are experiencing. But, I do not use the "program auto" mode, just heat, cool, auto and off. In fact, I have never programmed one locally. All of my Insteon thermostats are run by ISY programs (except remote wireless ones which don't matter). So when I locally override the temp or mode, it will change back only much later when the time comes for it to do so per the ISY program. Hope this helps.
