ERRORA.LOG Problem

I'm getting the message below in the event viewer. What does it mean and what's the best way to fix it?

I replaced it in April 2019...is that normal wear and tear?

No, definitely not unless you were using a low capacity SD Card + many many node servers + event viewer on level 3 + many programs running at the same time generating events + init variables .

If you have many node servers + you use event viewer on level 3 a lot, it's best to use at least 8GB SDHC class micro SD Card.

In a recent discussion on another social media I was introduced to A1 and A2 performance ratings on memory cards.  It's hard to find these ratings on the smaller (thus older) cards, however here's a 16GB SanDisk Ultra card that carries the A1 rating (the wiki says 16gb will work with an ISY-994) In short A2 and is better than A1 but either is better than a memory card that carries neither rating.  I won't try to explain the ratings but here's a link at sdcard.org discussing.

The specific topic being discussed on the other site was the best memory card to buy for a rPi 4 running Home Assistant. The contributor that suggested cards with A1 or better yet A2 ratings (all of which are also Category 10... a different rating) claimed to an engineer from an unnamed hard drive manufacturer and I have no reason to doubt his words.  I've looked for the thread a few times so I could link here and I can't seem to find it.

I have a 32 GB and will be replacing it with a 16GB Memory Cards (SanDisk MicroSD Ultra) rated A1. 

For future reference, are there error messages or is there another way I can be notified earlier that my SD card is potentially going bad (other than irregular system behavior)?  

Also, in the SD card replacement instructions it says that "Please note: If your performing this whole process because of a corrupted SD card, a good backup is considered one that was completed successfully before the SD card got corrupted".  I have taken a successful backup today that ran to the end without displaying any error on my screen. Is it OK to use that backup when restoring the card?  The reason I ask is that I assume the zip file from the Backup ISY process contains my device information...I've recently installed many devices and scenes since the previous backup that I don't want to spend days getting them back.

Exact one I ordered!  Is a 16GB SanDisk MicroSD Ultra, 98MB/s Speed Class 10, SDHC, rated A1.  I think my current 32 GB was also a SanDisk Ultra but can't remember for sure.

It's an interesting topic.  Last summer I decided that my SD card was old, however still working fine.  I decided to order a new card just to have on hand (I've even debated proactively replacing it, but haven't so far the new one is still in it's package).  At that point I looked up the max size (the wiki says 16gb) and then ordered a SanDisk Ultra which was a Category 10 card, the only rating a knew to look for at that time.  Turns out the one I ordered doesn't have and A1 or A2 rating, just Category 10.

Also in that same "other thread" it was mentioned that likely 1 in 20 of all cards just has a short life, and no-name off brands can be far worse than recognized brands OR be just as a good as the recognized brands, its entirely unpredictable.

I wonder if the problem is the 32gb card?   According to the wiki 16gb is the max.

It is stated somewhere that ISY can only format to 2GB regardless of the SD card size.

This has been a problem on many system over the years. You can format a card to 32 GB but once the system runs past it's addresding limit, the system crashes and then people blame the SD card and get a new one. The same thing happens again and again until the formatting matches the system and now knows when to stop.
