johnstonf Posted June 7, 2021 Posted June 7, 2021 Is there a Tasker Plugin or a way to put shortcuts / Widgets on home screen in Android using UD Mobile?
Javi Posted June 7, 2021 Posted June 7, 2021 Hi @johnstonf, Currently there is no tasker plugin. UD Mobile includes shortcut to favorites. Control and Status query of most nodes can be accomplished from tasker using REST. Subscription (Node Status Observer) is only active while UD Mobile is open. Can you provide some additional information on the integration you desire? There may be a method to accomplish your tasks without UD Mobile.
oberkc Posted June 7, 2021 Posted June 7, 2021 It has been a while since I used "tasker" app for this purpose. Unfortunately, my latest phone does not have any of the tasker profiles I had on previous phones so I am going by memory on all this. IIRC, I think mobilinc had a tasker profile that could be used. Mobilinc also had it's own widgets. I have, unfortunately, lost track of mobilinc capabilities since moving to a subscription service. I used to rely on android tablets throughout the house as home control devices but have gotten away from that for reasons that are increasingly unclear. I used tasker widgets along with mobilinc widgets on those tablets and they worked really well. Maybe there is still something there that can be used. Regardless, I think widgets and tasker plug-ins would be a wonderful addition to UD Mobile.
johnstonf Posted June 7, 2021 Author Posted June 7, 2021 I use Mobilinc and run about 20 widget shortcuts, all from turning on/off lights, blinds 20,40,60,80%, siren off, fresh air on, off, etc... super handy, all done via tasker tasks, and it has plugin to Mobilinc. Javi Posted June 7, 2021 Posted June 7, 2021 Hi @johnstonf, I'll add it to our list although it has lower priority relative to other items. All of the items you mention are easily accomplished with Basic Auth and REST https://username:password@<urlToISY>/rest/nodes/<node>/cmd/<command> . This would be the HTTP Request Action in Tasker and would likely eliminate much of the boilerplate tasks when using Tasker variables to set things like <node>, <command>, and <value>.
