SetMonkey13 Posted June 17, 2021 Posted June 17, 2021 I recently installed a new ceiling fan and now all of the non dual band devices on that house circuit are having communication issues. Besides removing the fan, is there anything that I can do to solve that problem? I thought about getting some new dual band devices, but the Plug-In Lamp Dimmer Modules are out of stock.
msoileau Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Does this new ceiling fan have new LED lights? I've had issues with Insteon communication with certain LED bulbs, particularly some of the older Cree bulbs
Brian H Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 The fan probably has a line rated capacitor across the AC power input. To keep the fans internal electronic noise off of the power lines and it is doing its job nicely. It would also absorb Insteon power line commands. Making them more difficult to get to where they have to go. Or it is making so much power line noise it is effecting the Insteon power line commands. I wire in X10 or Insteon filter may help. If you didn't find that the bulbs if LED where effecting the commands. I will look to see what is still being sold as many have been discontinued or are meant for a whole branch circuit like the X10 XPF.
