fasttimes
Im awaiting my ISY-99 order so I can rebuild my links without pulling out my hair. I'm just wondering why a software version, eg. linux distro isn't being offered? Link to comment
Brian H
There is no special software needed to access the ISY99i. You can access it from your favorite web browser. Using the IP Address it is assigned. Also needs Java installed. I have used Ubuntu and Firefox to access all but the Administration Tab as Java isn't found even though I have tried a few times to get it there. Also go though IE8 with Windows XP SP3 While waiting for the hardware maybe you can study the manual. http://www.universal-devices.com/docs/i ... rguide.pdf Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
Hi fasttimes, Good question! The answer is basically limited resources ... ISY firmware is quite complex internally with quite a number of modifications in the OS/kernel to achieve network performance and concurrency. Although everything can be ported to Linux or Windows CE, the major hurdles are integration and reliability testing for which we currently do not have any resources. fasttimes
Michael, I'm a developer, so I know the feeling. Have you considered making a Virtual Machine? Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
Hi fasttimes, We have considered so many different possibilities including a semi/protected virtual machine ... at the end of the day, though, we just need more resources to help with development.
