On level and ramp rate applied locally in new switch links

The new (v35) switch links I have installed default to having the ramp rate and on levels applied locally. This is stated when I open the switch in the ISY. Is there a way to have the on level and ramp rates controlled by the ISY rather than the switch?

Thanks

All Insteon dimmers, no matter the version, have a 'local' setting.

You could set the local setting to something low or with a long ramp rate (1%/8 minute ramp rate), then use ISY programs to detect the ON command and send an overriding command, but doing so would take the "instant" out of Insteon--you'd be in the dark while the switch signaled the ISY, the ISY detected the change, then the ISY sent the new command. Depending on how busy the ISY was with other tasks, I suspect it could potentially take 4-5 seconds.

Thanks for the reply, but I guess I asked the question incorrectly ..

On all my old Switch Links, I am able to control ramp rate via the ISY sliders. On the new ones, I can only control the ramp rate on the switch itself - the ISY sliders are grayed out. Is there a way to change the default to ISY control? Local control at the switch removes much of the flexibility of ISY.

Hello Al,

Would you be kind enough to let me know whether or not ISY considers this device as "unsupported". If yes, can you give me the numbers after the "v" on the top center of the screen for this device?

Thanks and with kind regards,

Michel
