randyth Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 Once ISY/Polisy comes to life and takes over the home automation world (or at least our little corner of it) and you have all your Insteon, ZWave, and myriad Polyglot-enabled devices controlled by the new shiny blue box from UD, what are you going to do with your old 994i?
larryllix Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 I keep thinking of my oldest son who has a house full of smart light switches but a few years back he stated he (big computer organisation guy) didn't want to do any programming. I know he has some Insteon switches and a Hub to run them, but I am not sure what the other wall switches (with the LED circle on their rocker switches) are. I wonder if those are Zwave types?? However, I do not want to give up any PLMs (at this point) despite having three functioning units.
upstatemike Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 It will go in a box to keep my ISY-26 company. 2 1
KSchex Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Not going to retire the ISY any time soon. If it works don't touch it. Unless, Polisy is absolutely awesome and full of goodies. 1

jnaiser60 Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Id be curious to know how you control a polisy without an ISY? am I missing something? Reminds me of Homeseer... Hacker crap.

randyth Posted January 3, 2022 Author Posted January 3, 2022 My 994i is now officially free of all devices/programs/resources/life-goals -- replaced by Polisy. And yet, I am somehow hesitant to "pull the plug" on this old friend. Sigh.

Me also. I ported over all programs and then started enabling programs I could that used NRs. Then made NRs on my ISY994 to trigger the same variables my lighting was on. After that I realised I was at the commit point or had to do a lot more transfer data coding between the two units. Got with the program at that point and sadly turned my ISY994 off.
