Some programs and scenes require user intervention and modification after an upgrade from 4.xx to 5.3.

Make sure your ISY firmware and UI versions match.

Also try rebooting the ISY

Yes, but 5.3.4 in far superior to 4.9. Whatever issues you're having should be easily resolved. First make sure that your firmware and UI match.

If they don't then go into your Java control panel and delete your Java cache and Applications then download the ISY finder which will put a new icon on your desktop.

Ok here is some more info. When I right click on programs a list comes up with all of my programs. Next to every program in yellow is not loaded next window out of memory. I tried rebooting the 994i also cleared the cache and even reinstalled Java. Maybe  i do not have the proper UI  installed but so far no go on the programs. Every thing else works fine even Alexa. I can control all modules manually as well as with spoken commands. I think I will walk away from this for a while.

Your symptoms match one or both of two things, both of which you must MANUALLY correct as part of upgrading the firmware to 5.x on the ISY:

a) Your UI must exactly match the version of the firmware that you have installed on the ISY.  If you do not have this, do not do ANYTHING else until you correct this.  Seriously - nothing will work.  And attempting to do anything with the ISY when you have mismatched UI/firmware will only make things worse, never better!  There are many threads here discussing how to ensure you always have a matching UI, if that turns out to be the case for you.

b) Once you have a matching UI/firmware version, you can then go through the rest of the process as noted in the announcement threads describing the 5.x version you installed -- in a nutshell, the new firmware changes many internal data structures, but it cannot modify all the programs without requiring some degree of manual intervention.  The threads will describe what to look for and how to manually finish the process so that you have, once again, a consistent set of programs/devices/scenes/etc in memory in the ISY.

c) When both of the above are accomplished, you can then begin to explore and use some of the new features in the 5.x firmware.

And finally, yes you can go back -- best way I found to do so is to factory rest the ISY, install the old firmware, install the matching older UI, then restore an old backup in order to put everything the way it was.  Upgrading to 5.x does not, itself, change anything in any devices, so there's nothing you need to do with any devices as part of the restore process.

Ok mwebster was right as both versions must be the same. But when launching that is a another story. I talked to Mike at UD and here is what he emailed back to me. My isy is up and running fine with no modifications to any of the programs. Thanks  to all who have replied and I hope thus information can help someone with the same problem.

Merry Christmas to all Bob K. N2XSU

Robert, the whole point is that you MUST use the Launcher and not the House icon. Delete it, Annihilate it. Remove it from your memory. You should only use the icon with UD log

I had the same problem with the the 'Not Implemented' & 'Out of Memory' errors and it took me months to figure out the problem. It turns out the the Launcher has 2 options for the Admin console - Local and Web.  I never noticed the difference and always used Local.  Once I used the Web option, all of the ISY errors disappeared. It was that simple.

Your Java memory may be low as the launcher should also work from your local LAN.

Possible with the 'Out of memory' error.  But issue was identical on multiple PCs.  Somewhere there must be a hidden file/registry key that wasn't deleted when I cleared all of the caches, deleted  & reinstalled Java, deleted the UD Launcher, rebooted, powered down, etc.  The only thing that stayed constant was the user.... :)

When you clear your java cache it also deletes the ISY launcher.  When you clear your Java cache you must also check the box "Installed Applications" which will remove the launcher from your desktop, you then need to download the launcher.
