PG3 HarmonyHub Node Server 3.0.9

Recommended Posts

The Polyglot Version 3 Nodeserver for Harmony Hubs Version 3.0.0 is released.

IMPORTANT: There was an issue with PG3 where it deleted the configuration data on restart so device ids could change, which has been fixed.  Make sure your PG3 is the versions mentioned in the README

See the README for more information, including information on moving from PG2.

The Release Notes are also available.

You must be logged into the Portal. there is a button above all that.

Also, because of the issue already mentioned below, I would advise not installing it until PG3 is fixed.

There is currently an issue with PG3, it will delete the configuration data that is saved on disk during restart.  So please try to avoid restarting polyglot until the next version of PG3.

Also, make sure you have read and understood the Moving From PG2 section if you are moving from PG2.

I installed the PG3 Harmony Hub nodeserver, connected to my ISY 994 and I have  a few issues using the nodeserver that I don't have when using the Harmony Hub App on my Iphone :

(1)  In my ISY  "wake-up" program the Vizio TV  "Command - Power Toggle" works and switches on the TV. However "Command - Number X"  (followed by "Command-Select") does not. Before, when using the PG2 nodeserver, the number X would appear on the TV screen and after "Select" the TV woulkd switch to that channel. Now X does not show and nothing happens.

(2) I have a HH routine that I named "Watch NBC" and that turns on the TV and switches to NBC. This works when clicking on the routine in ISY's Main tab, but it does not when including it in a program.

Did you view the program in the AC and confirm it still looks correct?  Also, as indicated in the README some programs may require an update and save before they work properly.

What is "HH"?

You say "clicking on the routine in ISY Main tab"  I don't understand, ISY doesn't have a routine, and what is the "Main tab".

Sorry for not understanding, just need clarity before I can help.

HH : Harmony Hub

Routine : Sorry, I meant "Activity" as it is called in the Harmony Hub App.

Main tab : In ISY Administrative Console, there are 3 tabs : Main - Programs - Configuration

When the Harmony Hub nodeserver is added, then it adds nodes for the devices included inn the Haemony Hub as well as for the "Activities"

Thanks, My bad on the HH, guess Routine threw me.  I have Activites that are triggered by Programs which work, but I will re-confirm tonight.

So in the AC you select the Node for the Activity and click Start and that works, but in a program that does a Start on that node it doesn't work.  Correct?  Please make sure it select the program, select a line in the program and click "update" then save.

If still doesn't work, it may help to reboot ISY after moving from PG2 to PG3 as mentioned in the README as well.

Good news and slightly less good news....

I had made a mistake in the program using  the TV node for selecting the channel instead of using the Xfinity box node. This allowed me to replace the Activity/Start (which still does not work) with the various steps, channel number-select- volume, and now the program works as desired.

Thanks for the great nodeserver.

I just tested Activity Start and Stop directly on the Activity in a Program, and changing the Activity on the Hub in a program and both worked.  It failed one time due to a timeout to my hub (this hub is occasionally loosing network lately) but besides that one time it worked every time.  Please watch the NS log in the Polyglot UI, execute the program and let me know if there are errors or warnings.

I'll work on it as you suggest, but right now the program works, basically by including the steps of the "Activity" in the program rather than the "Activity/Start" itself.

The issues with PG3 deleting configuration data has been fixed make sure you are running 3.0.38.  But be aware if you are on a version before that and upgrade your node addresses may change.

If I understand well, in PG3 the upgrade is done by restarting the nodeserver, which I did and it shows 3.03 (not 3.038.  In the PG3 Nodeserver Store the HH shows not as installed, eventhough it is installed and works.

@asbril SSH into your PoliSy and do this....

Check that you have the correct version installed.

pkg info pg3

It should be:

pg3-3.0.38_1

If it is then simply restart the PG3 server.

sudo service pg3 restart

If you don't have the correct version, you  can install it by.

sudo pkg install pg3
sudo service pg3 enable
sudo service pg3 start

That should get you up and running.

I followed your instructions and I have pg3-3.0.38_1

But the harmony Hub nodeserver remains at 3.03, even after restarting the nodeserver as well as Polyglot. It is not an issue as the noderserver works well

The current version of the node server will display on the node server store page.  You can compare that with the version listed in the node server details.  After a restart of the node server (not PG3) they should match.

I'm showing the current version of the Harmony Hub node server is 3.0.3 so it looks like you have the most recent.

I believe @Jimbowas referring to the version of PG3.  Versions prior to 3.0.38 of PG3 had problems updating node servers.

I get it. Thanks
