Schlage Lock status is "Unknown"

Recommended Posts

I am brand new to this forum and this is my first post.  I have been using the ISY994 for quite a while but have only touched the surface of its capabilities.  With that said, I cannot seem to stumble on a solution to the problem I'm having.  I just installed a Schlage Connect Deadbolt lock and my ISY found it and I can issue basic lock and unlock commands.  I can also set a password.  However, I cannot do any programming because the status of my lock always says "Unknown".  Is there something I am missing when including the lock into my network?  I have excluded it and then included it and the status remains "Unknown" but the lock and unlock commands work.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.  Tony

Thank you MrBill and lilyoyo1 for responding so fast.  This is my very first request for help on the UD forum and I'm pretty damn impressed on the folks out here willing to help.

I was think possibly the opposite in that the firmware is up to date but is the Beta Version.  I was thinking about doing a factory reset and manually adding all my devices and programs back rather than restore from a backup to see if that solves the problem.  I will wait to see what https://forum.universal-devices.com/profile/4175-lilyoyo1/ thinks.  Appreciate your help.

Don't downgrade your firmware.  5.3.4 is better than 5.3.0.  It is stable and only includes bug fixes since the "official" version 5.3.0.  Its labeled "test build" not "beta", it's called a "test build" because z-wave certification costs UDI a significant sum of money, therefor not every release is submitted.  5.3.4 was released July 30th, approx 6 months ago, and is considered stable.

I have been reading other related topics on my particular Schlage lock and it appears that some of the users have reported that versions 5.2 and above report problems with the Schlage locks.  Anything under 5.2 provides full control of the locks with options button present.  My lock UI in ISY994 looks like this:

After reading this forum all day and testing my system on what I read around this particular lock, I repositioned my ISY and was able to obtain accurate status (i.e., Locked and Unlocked).  I was not able to get the "Options" button to appear so I started playing around with configuration parameters based upon this lock's z-wave codes.  I will update if I'm successful.  I stayed with the current version and did not downgrade.

I'm on 5.3.0 with three Schlage zwaves (connects, I think).  This is the furthest from my ISY.  There is one other lock between the two as well as a Zooz relay and a steel washer and dryer set.  After moving to the 500 series card, deleting and reinstalling, they've all been pretty solid.....
