Upgrade Polisy 5.4.2 using older ISY save from 5.0.16b

I have isy with older zwave300 module in it. I have not updated it fully because of this. I wanted to test my new polisy using the backup from this ISY i have currently. 

 

will it work?

You should update to version 5.0.16C, that's as far as you can go with a 300 series board.

Yes you can restore your 994 backup on IoP (ISY on Polisy).  Polisy does not have a built in z-wave board but the Zooz series 700 is what UDI recommends and also sells on the store page.

Be sure to read up on the exact steps to take with z-wave, I've seen a few people end up having to start over with z-wave, I don't have any z-wave so I haven't been closely following the steps.

The Z-wave migration option from the ISY to Polisy is not yet available, so you'll have to manually build your Z-wave network from scratch on the Polisy.

I guess my question was mostly will something be broken from not using a backup from latest ISY. 

the instructions clearly say to upgrade isy to latest version which I am not doing.

As a pioneer, let others know how it goes.

I used a more recent backup to port over to IoP and it took a lot of fixing but mostly worked.

With a new polisy there shouldn't be much to lose.

So far upgrading from 5.0.16b isy to polisy 5.4.2 only had a couple programs that were in the yellow. I just deleted those and assume it was because they used a zwave module that had not been added yet. 

my system is fairly basic with just basic programs written for timers on switches and scenes. 

I was having bad communication issues since December after a brownout and figured my plm had died as it was about 3 yrs old. I recapped it and still was having bad comm issues. even bought a new USB PLM and swapped the daughterboards and still issues. 

I decided it might be best to leave insteon behind as I am a Ham radio operator and all these noisy devices wreak havok on my HF equipment but figured I would give the Polisy a try as i would just upgrade over time to all zwave devices.

Got the polisy running fine but still having comm issues with 3 different plm's that i now own. 

Daughters bedroom has insteon indoor/outdoor module that was being used to control a box fan in her bedroom and I decided that since this is used most often in my programs i would swap that out to a zwave module first. After I unplugged that module all my comm issues went away! 

Wish i knew how to have diagnosed that thing to be having issues from the beginning, not sure if anything in the logs would have been pointing to that device or not.

@xgfreon seems like it was a noise issue. First steps would have been to read the wiki for noise troubleshooting.

Then there have been a lot of posts over the years of how to really dig deep and find just what's causing the noise. But, as you're probably aware chasing noise can be difficult and time consuming. I know @MrBill has posted a very detailed process for tracking down issue like this (I can't find it currently, but you seem to have resolved the issue so wouldn't help now). It might have saved you a lot of issues.

At least you've got 3 PLMs, and hopefully they all work well!   

It's possible the brownout impacted the module you removed. It's also possible that other devices could have been impacted that can lead to issues down the road.
