So it "seems" isy "runs on Polisy"?  not sure what that means.  does Polisy have a whole new interface?..but you also run the old isy interface?  If true is the ability to do this so that you do not have to rewrite your programs ?  is it better to start from scratch on Polisy?  sorry, I am confused on the basics here, and appreciate any help

You can replace your 994 hardware with ISY on Polisy.    Your PLM connects to Polisy instead.   The Admin console is still used as the user interface.

The Polisy hardware has a faster processor and is an improvement over the ISY. You can migrate your Insteon programs and devices from the ISY to Polisy by doing a restore of your ISY backup to the Polisy. There're detailed instructions available online and in the UDI Wiki.

The Polisy also supports the USB PLM in addition to the 2413S serial PLM

It also supports the Zwave 700 protocol using a plug in Zwave module.
