awysocki Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 Love my ISY and have a Polisy waiting in the wings. The ISY has worked for many years I've pretty much forgot about it (thats a good thing). Now that Insteon is shuttered. A few of my switches are not working. What is the recommended (if any) switch/dimmers to use? That work with Polisy or ISY99 Thanks
Techman Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 Your best bet would be to use the Polisy with the Zwave 700 dongle and Zwave dimmer switches. Aeotec: Z-Wave light dimmer switch, illumino Dimmer Switch ‐ Aeotec Zooz: ZOOZ ZEN77 S2 DIMMER – ZOOZ (getzooz.com) 1

jkmcfadden Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 (edited) The Zooz Zen32 (available on Amazon and elsewhere) is a 5 button z-wave switch. It is a little different to program, but I have been able to configure them as fan controllers. Right now I plan to use them in bedrooms with ceiling fans - freeing up my precious keypadlinks for other locations - but I plan to investigate other uses. There are several other posts as well that discuss using these switches. Just search on "zen32". Edited May 23, 2022 by jkmcfadden
GJ Software Products Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 I'm in somewhat the same boat, looking to find a solution for all my Keypadlincs, I bought a Zooz ZEN32 and got it working with my isy994i. Took programming as the 4 smaller buttons looks like they only send keypress and you have to write a flip-flop and write (set) to the Parameters to control the LEDs but regardless I got it working like I wanted. You'll want to upgrade the firmware so Paramater 23 will work (I've heard) but overall it seems ok. I went ahead and bought a 2nd one for experimentation before I replace all my Keypadlincs. I only found two 4-button controllers out there and the Zooz looked to be the better. It's still not a Keypadlinc, but close. 1
mango Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Hmm, the Zen32's look nice, I bet they look good with the screwless plates flush with the switch, like the KPL's are advertised. What do folks do about button labeling?
oskrypuch Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 (edited) I don't have one, but I'd do the same thing as I do with KPLs. A Brother label maker, use a clear background tape. On better, with the Brother label program driving the labeler as a printer, you can create anything, including graphics. * Orest Edited May 23, 2022 by oskrypuch
GJ Software Products Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Yea they look nice and also what's cool is you can programmatically change the color of the LEDs on the buttons that adds to the visual fluff...
Prana electric Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 LEVITON makes some pretty good stuff I may have to go to them when I run out of my insteon stock. Leviton DZ15S-1BZ Leviton DZ6HD-1BZ Levition DD00R-DLZ Leviton ZW15R-1BW

oskrypuch Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 (edited) @Prana electricThe Leviton switches appear to be 500 series (Z-Wave Plus v1) devices, so that is one point against them. * Orest Edited May 23, 2022 by oskrypuch
jkmcfadden Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 (edited) I found a guy on Etsy that makes custom plates. They are a high-quality metal and the cost ends up about the same as what the Insteon custom keys used to cost. They were great working with me. I tried zazzle.com but was not pleased with the quality or the look. Tedstuff | Modern, Elegant, and Fun Mailboxes and Light fixtures Edited May 23, 2022 by jkmcfadden 3
