FloridaGary Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 This past week, I have been reading as much info as possible in preparation for the installation of IoP….which should be delivered tomorrow. Yay! There is a section and video about Port Forwarding, but can someone confirm this is not needed if you subscribe to the ISY Portal? I am not an IT guy, but isn’t port forwarding used if you aren’t interested in a cloud service? The only time I recall setting up Port Forwarding is before Insteon offered the Hub 10 years ago.
Javi Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Port forwarding is not needed for ISY Portal, the ISY/Polisy will call out to the portal to establish a connection. 2
FloridaGary Posted April 24, 2022 Author Posted April 24, 2022 Thanks for confirming. My thought was that not everybody wants the ISY Portal subscription, so they Port Forward for remote access.

Yeah I used port forwarding a lot but the ISY portal is so easy, full of features, cheap, and safer.Sent from my SM-G781W using Tapatalk 2

slimypizza Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 I subscribe to the ISY portal but that’s not how I access it remotely. I have a reverse proxy set up on my router and access the ISY remotely via a URL on port 443 (which is open anyway).
