kyderr Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Does anyone have a good way to determine when/if their ISY goes offline? Clearly if it's down, it can't tell me that. And I have a way to check if my home network is down, but lately my ISY fails everyday and I need to determine when it's offline. I thought the ISY portal would be a good place to have that feature, but I want to be notified that it's offline and not have to keep checking. Perhaps something with an IFTTT hook?
Geddy Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 @kyderr I'd say that you're trying to get notified about an issue rather than fixing the issue. If the ISY is going "offline" then it is probably a network issue that you're having. Otherwise, ISY isn't known to just go into an "offline" state. I would suggest opening a support ticket to see if there is something in the logs as if there are indeed errors with the ISY causing problems. Otherwise, it's a network related issue and should be troubleshot with the router manufacturer or your ISP. What model device are you using, and what is your Firmware and User Interface (in Admin Console menu Help -> About). Create a ticket with support one of these ways: Submit a Ticket: https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets Email: support@universal-devices.com
kyderr Posted April 26, 2022 Author Posted April 26, 2022 I do have a ticket open, and we're plodding through it, but in the meantime, I was trying to determine when it goes offline. The Logs don't give any indication because they don't indicate any error. The network is up and running without problem, the device just doesn't answer at some point. It still passes traffic on insteon, it doesn't indicate any errors with the lights, and the network port is lit and blinking. Just no answer until I restart it. It's not even DHCP renewal time and there is already a static entry in the table for the device. ISY 994i zw 5.3.4 1
