OK, I know about the Zooz switches like the ZEN71, actually just got one of the dimmers (ZEN72), nice unit.

But, I'm looking for something that has an 1800w rated relay that can handle mixed loads, including appliances and tube fluorescents. The light box switches (eg. ZEN71) I've found restrict usage for these.

It seems you'd have to grab one of the wire-in relay boxes, and also combine it with a regular switch to provide manual control.

So, no such all-in-one product, wall switch with heavy duty relay in one box, in Z-Wave?

Probably best if you Google it since are so many manufacturers. You'll have to check their specs.

With that said, where did you read that at about zooz? 

Right in their documentation.

I didn't see that in their documentation except for the tube lights (which will have issues with insteon as well). They say do not use in switched outlets but that's for all of them as you cannot control what gets plugged into a switched outlet. 

Generally (insteon as well) as long as it's directly controlling something within it's specs, you'll be fine. 

The Aeotec illumino Switch is Z-wave 700 series. Specs are below:

They don't mention tube fluorescents in their technical notes, only CFLs.

Hmm.

Same specs otherwise to the ZEN71. I suspect the guts are identical.

There is the Zen30 double switch.

It appears to be a triac switched dimmer + separate 15A dry contact relay controlled by a separate lower toggle. But I think it is a 500 series device.

If you're expecting mfg. to cover every detail it probably won't happen. I'm actually surprised zooz says what not to use their stuff with

If the fluorescent tubes use a ballast, then it would be considered an inductive load.

Some of the newer fluorescent tube replacements use the led technology.

Just trying to be cautious, especially since I'm new to the Z-Wave side. Clearly a "clunking" dry contact relay like the old 2477S will handle a variety of loads, but an electronic switch may have some operational restrictions.

Most of my fluorescents have been changed out to LED tube replacements, that work with the original ballasts, but still have some T8's in place.

The only way to know for certain would be to call around to different mfg. Their people probably won't know either but that would be your best bet
