gfridland Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 Brian, thanks for the link...interestingly, the quick start PDF from the provided link still states 417 links...But I see the number in the tech description. Does my link count seem reasonable for the size of install? Quote
upstatemike Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 My link count is 754 so yours does not seem out of line. Quote
Brian H Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I have a very small system. Eight ApplianceLincs, two SwitchLinc Relays and two RemoteLincs. Very few scenes and I believe my count is 74. From what you described. 406 maybe quite normal. Quote
gfridland Posted February 1, 2010 Author Posted February 1, 2010 3 nights and no scene misfires. Looks like the stored X10 address in adjacent device may have been causing issues. Quote
upstatemike Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 I can understand how an X-10 address can cause unexpected operation of a single module but how was it triggering a scene? Quote
gfridland Posted February 1, 2010 Author Posted February 1, 2010 I agree with you upstatemike... All I know is that SO FAR it seems to be OK. I will continue to monitor (it's not that hard to see light going on at 2am) and if a week goes by without incident, I will feel much more confident that this was the cause. At this point I am crossing fingers... I will mention that since the togglelinc factory reset, I have not seen ANY X10 events in my Log file. Prior to the reset, I would get +/-5 each day. The togglelinc in question only operates a few times daily. Quote
gfridland Posted February 4, 2010 Author Posted February 4, 2010 Michel, I just read this comment you made in a different discussion area... I have one question: Do you also have symptoms such as different lights turning on/off by themselves (especially those linked to your KPL versions 2D)? If so, I think I know the problem. Version 2D is firmware 1.5 of the KPL some of which exhibited quite strange and intermittent behavior. To verify that the problem is NOT noise, all you have to do is to swap the LOCATION (not scenes/programs and/or anything ISY related) of the working KPL with the non-working KPL. If the non-working KPL still exhibited the same issues, then for sure this is related to the KPL itself. As you can see, I have had issues with unexpected triggering of scenes. I just checked and the loads are controlled by Version 2D KPLs. Now...I haven't seen this occur since I reset a non-related togglelinc dimmer, but I am still not comfortable that I have found the solution. Just interested if the above statement may shed more light on my past (hopefullly) issue with unexplained scene triggers. Thanks for your input... Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Hi gfridland, Since this happened on an extremely small batch of KPLs and if you have not experienced intermittent behavior lately, I wouldn't worry about it. With kind regards, Michel Quote
gfridland Posted February 4, 2010 Author Posted February 4, 2010 Thank you for the reassurance... Quote
