Zwave migration from ISY

Looking ahead, what will be the process for the following:

Zwave migration from ISY with 500 series board to Polisy with ZMatter board

Zwave migration from ISY with 500 series board to eisy with ZMatter board

Zwave migration from Polisy with Zooz 700 dongle to eisy with ZMatter board

Where is the Zwave data stored in the ISY with the 500 series board, on the 500 board or in a file?

Being that the software is the same across devices, I suspect it'll be the same as it is now for the 300-500 board.

Once ready- I'm sure UDI will be more specific with instructions.

From my understanding, the Z-Wave USB hardware devices like the Zooz store all the node information about your Z-Wave devices, and the ISY would communicate with it at a higher level. For example, when I upgraded my defective Zooz stick (which had problem doing OTW firmware update), I backed it up to a file on PC and restored to the new stick and ISY did not even realize that anything changed. I believe what will happen is that UD will backup the existing series 500/700 boards' configuration, and then write that node information back to the new ZMatter devices in its format. This probably requires some translation between how the devices work.

I've been holding off moving from ISY994i to Polisy due to the hassle of removing and re-adding all my zwave devices, then correcting all the programs on the ISY AND all the Home Assistant devices, since the numbering will all be different. I came close a few times, and even have the Zooz 700 Stick and an Insteon USB PLM, but it's a lot of work, and I never got the block of time to pull the trigger.

Will backing up from a ISY994i with a 500 series board, then restoring to ISY on Polisy with the ZMatter board, keep all the zwave device numbering the same? On the ZMatter board order page, it says "Easy migration from 994 500 Series and Zooz 700 series dongle. Migration from your 994 is as easy as backup/restore", but then it links to the instructions to do so and it says "Note Z-Wave nodes are not automatically migrated", so I'm not sure how it will work.

That hasn't been updated since the matter board isn't out yet. Those with pre orders should receive there's in the next few weeks. At that point, instructions will probably be updated for it. I suspect it'll be the same as from the 300 to 500 board. Backup and restore
