Recommendations for noise free power strips

I have about 15 power strips throughout my house. And have found that some cause some real issues with communications, but are generally fixed with XPPF or other filters.

But here is my question, does anyone have a recommendation for power strips that don't have any noise issues? By that I mean brand and/or model number?

Probably not a noise issue. More like the strips you are using have a decent noise filter in them. This filter will absorb both X10 and Insteon signals.

The XPF block the strip from absorbing the signals in the X10 Insteon range.

Still could be a noisy device connected to the strip as it maybe hard to determine which it is.

A test would be see if the strip with no devices connected still effects the signals.

Are you speaking specifically of surge supressor-type strips? If you don't need surge supressor capability, a simple, passive power strip would not introduce any noise into a ciruit, other than that of the devices into it that are plugged.

Brian,

Thanks for the clarification, your analysis is correct, the power strips are most likely signal suckers, as opposed to "noisy", for the following reasons:

1. Problem existed even though all devices were powered off that were plugged in to that power strip,

2. Problem existed even tough all devices were unplugged from the offending power strip.

Therefore, I will look for passive power strips.

Thanks!

My own personal approach to power strips: If I need it for devices that require one of those fancier strips (surge suppression, energy management, power conditioning, etc) then I use a filter. If I need the strip simply for the additional outlets, then I make sure the strip is one of those simple, cheap, no-electronics-on-board type. I don't filter those.
