Cannot determine device link table address

Howdy - trying to add two #2474DWH dimmer switches. They used to work flawlessly and then stop responding. I deleted them from the PLM and then factory reset each of them twice. Each time  I go to add I receive an error: Cannot determine device link table address. I look through the forums and tried what I found. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks Jon

Is there another dual band device nearby?

I agree.

That model module. Is RF only and needs a module with an RF receiver in it. Dual band module, range extender, access point, 2413 PLM. With in RF range of the module trying to be added.

Please elaborate what is a module with an RF receiver in it mean. Is this a PLM option?

Would Non-Insteon RF device interfere like a TV with BlueTooth and Wireless Internet? Or does the distance to the PLM matter?

Background: This is the only RF devices on my home automation network. Everything else is still using the 50 year old x-10 protocol. The #2474DWH dimmer switches still work synchronizing without the PLM in a Group.

What process did you use to add the switches? Make sure your UI and firmware matches in addition to factory resetting both switches. Also, if you're typing in the address, make sure the address is correct.

Thank you. Yup. Saw all of this on the forums. I have.

To add I tried to reset both switches then "Link Management" -> "Start Linking". It finds the devices, just give the link table error at the beginning of this post i.e. "Cannot determine device link table address."

Also tried "Link Management" -> "New Insteon/A10/X10 Device" - added the address in lower case.

For troubleshooting purposes, it would be helpful to see a log of the communication between the ISY and the switches when you try to add them.  In the Admin Console, choose Tools->Diagnostics->Event Viewer.  A separate window will open.  At the bottom of that window you'll see a dropdown for "Level".  Click it and choose "3 Device communications events".  Then click the "Clear" button to the left of the "Level".  After that go through trying to add your switches.  When that's done, go back to the Event Viewer window and click the "Copy to clipboard" button at the bottom (looks like a clipboard and is the left of the "Close" button.  Finally paste that log into a response here.  That will tell us whether the ISY is actually communicating with the switches, and if it is, what the switches are saying to it.

the simple answer to this is the PLM and any Dual band Insteon device.  Before we go further tho post the log @kclenden was looking for and we'll go from there.

Not too popular as dual band modules are now popular and most of all the presently sold modules. Are dual band.

Even the Access Points and Range Extenders are dual band
