Proper way to sync UD Mobile over 3 devices (all iOS)

I have ud mobile on an Iphone, iPad, and iPad pro. I added some favorites to my iPad pro. I noticed that they did not show up on my iPhone. For some reason, I assumed it would sync across devices. In any case I then did a backup to iCloud and reloaded that backup locally to the iPhone and did a restore. All seems fine. 

So my question: is this the proper / only way to sync across devices, or is there a simpler way to keep them all in sync. Also are there any pitfalls doing it this way.

As far as I know, what you followed is the oh way for now.

Configure browser push notifications
Chrome (Android)
  1. Tap the lock icon next to the address bar.
  2. Tap Permissions → Notifications.
  3. Adjust your preference.
Chrome (Desktop)
  1. Click the padlock icon in the address bar.
  2. Select Site settings.
  3. Find Notifications and adjust your preference.
