After issuing a remote "shutdown -p now" and turning off the eisy, can it be restarted, perhaps via a Wake-On-Lan magic packet?  If so, how does one enable WOL on the eisy?

What I have done is probably not something Michel would much approve off, but I have put the eisy on a Kasa plug. If necessary, in the Kasa App I can power cycle my eisy by turning the plug OFF and then ON again. I wait 1 minute in between the OFF and ON, just to be safe.

As said, it does not look like the ideal way of doing things, but it is my last resort option that I have used when PG3 is stuck and won't come back with a ISY Portal reboot.

Not sure why your issuing shutdown with -p which is power off,  can you use shutdown -r now instead? which is reboot.  I guess my question would be, why would you want to power off remotely?

I have noticed that there is a difference between a Reboot and a power cycle. Several times, after a restart of PG3, it did not come back, not even after a reboot in ISY Portal. Furthermore, in the rare case that I am traveling and the system does not work, using my "Kasa switch" option, I can restart the system if reboot does not do the job.

Plugs: EP25, KP125 and KP115 are Energy Monitoring ones that could be useful for just about anything you want to monitor its individual power usage. Otherwise the EP10 and HS105 are idea for just on off remote or scheduled needs and yes they work fine in eisy but requires the Kasa Node Server that is a $30 Perpetual purchase, but well worth it.

Doesn't require a HUB, DOES require WiFi and you can power the device on off for a cold boot when needed from ANYWHERE. This is no different then the "Remove Power Supply" technique used to cold boot device in support. 

Yeah easy to use. I use these on many things to make sure they get turned off at night.

They make Z-Wave ones too out there. I just happen to like Kasa TP-Link and their response via WiFi Mesh Network over other simple toggle switch solutions. Most importantly for the 3 NVR/DVR Security Surveillance Systems. Sometimes they will freeze up after many months of non-stop use. These make it a breeze to hard boot them.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I may eventually go with something like the Kasa smart plug, but was hoping to use an existing eisy feature or service like WOL, if supported by the eisy.

The reason of using a Wifi plug (such as Kasa) is that the eisy can be turned ON again. With a Zwave plug it would not be possible to turn eisy ON again as obviously eisy would be down after the OFF action.
